Emilio Goicoechea
STS Advisory Board Chairman, Mexico
Emilio is Chairman of the STS Advisory Board in Mexico. Emilio has deep experience in marketing, strategy, investment banking and international negotiations. Emilio has held numerous distinguished government positions, worked in private industry, is the recipient of numerous medals and supports a number of charitable organizations.
Government positions Emilio has held in Mexico include; Ambassador of Mexico to Canada and New Zealand, Chief Staff of the Presidency of Mexico during Vicente Fox Administration, National Action Party (Member of State Executive Committee, State Councillor, Member of National Executive Committee), among others. Emilio was Senator for the State of Sinaloa during the legislative LVI and LVII. In the LVIII Legislature, Emilio was a Federal Deputy and served as Undersecretary of Tourism Operation of the Federal Tourism Secretariat.
Within private industry, Emilio was President of the Confederation of National Chambers of Commerce of Mexico (CONCANACO), member of the Business Coordinating Council (CCE) and the Employers Confederation of Mexico (COPARMEX). He belonged to the Governing Body of BANCOMEXT, INFONAVIT, National Railways, FIDEC, and was Chairman of International Advisory Services and Director General of International Finance, Inc.
Emilio is the recipient of several medals including, but not limited to: The Key to the City of Miami, Florida; The Key to the City of Quezon, Philippines; Eagle Gold Medal Sponsor Institute of Free Enterprise.
Emilio has served as President of the Board of Directors of H. Volunteer Fire Corps of Mazatlan, Sinaloa, Treasurer of the Board of the Carnival of Mazatlán and he is a former President of the Boy Scout Association of Mexico.
Emilio graduated with a degree in Business Administration from the Technological Institute of Superior Studies of Monterrey (ITESM) and a diploma in Telecommunications studies.
