Monica Betancurt Assmus
Monica has experience in project management, strategy, improvement and optimization of commercial, customer experience, logistics and quality processes. Her experience includes the ability to coordinate and lead projects, gather and perform quantitative analysis of operational, sales, marketing and production data, identifying critical drivers of success in operations, CE and marketing, and creating and developing strategies aimed at improving the performance of those key indicators. Monica has a MBA, graduated with honors from ITESM, and has a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Management.

Barbara Deskey
Barbara leads our efforts to build relationships with strategic investors so STS is able to bring investors and opportunities together quickly and effectively. She is active in outreach, project leadership, and relationship management. Barbara offers more than 20 years’ experience, having worked most recently as a business development executive for a marketing technology start-up and as a Director (Partner) with Deloitte Consulting. Barbara’s area of expertise is customer-facing excellence – from customer strategy and segmentation to process and technology implementation – for both direct and channel-based/alliance models. She also worked in asset management, M&A, and corporate analysis roles at Morgan Stanley. Her experience includes working for small, medium, and multinational organizations, in industries such as telecom/high tech, marketing services, financial services, manufacturing, public sector, and not-for-profit. Barbara holds a B.A. with honors from Duke University and an M.B.A. with honors from Wharton/University of Pennsylvania.

Ana María Gutiérrez
As Country Manager, Ana María manages STS Capital Partners’ operations in Mexico. She is responsible for managing local projects as well as recruiting, training and developing the team in Mexico. With her project management skills, broad sector experience, and ability to leverage STS’ international network, Ana Maria is instrumental in ensuring clients’ requirements are fulfilled. Prior to STS, Ana Maria worked for multinational companies, including Lucent Technologies and Maritz Mexico. Ana Maria has a Bachelor in Business Administration from Universidad Iberoamericana in México City. She is also an active member in her community, frequently volunteering her time for charitable activities.

Susan D. Mahon
Susan is the International Contracts Manager at STS Capital Partners. She is also the Secretary and Treasurer of STS International based in Barbados. Susan has been engaged by the University of the West Indies as a Lecturer in Law; and as a legal expert, on contract to the Governments of the Caribbean in programs that encourage public-private enterprise, sustainable consumption and production, and environmentally-sound development and trade. As a business executive, Susan has worked as Managing Director of Barbados’ premiere tourism attraction, Harrisons Cave; and as Manager of Bellairs Research Institute which is a Tropical Research Station owned by McGill University in Canada. In 1992 at the Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro, Susan was awarded the “Global 500” by the United Nations, for her outstanding practical achievements in the protection and improvement of the environment.

Nadia Mattiuzzi
Nadia is an internationally accomplished leader with a unique blend of values-based leadership and entrepreneurial acumen. As an employee or consultant, Nadia has been a valued and innovative voice at the senior management table of companies such as Maritz, IBM, Hewlett Packard, Daimler Chrysler, Bank of Montreal and Equitable Life. She has also worked with a number of smaller technology and marketing services companies. Nadia has experience working with clients in the Americas, Europe, Asia and Australia. With experience in business management, marketing, operations, project management and finance Nadia brings a strong client perspective to her approach to the M&A process, from strategy through to integration.

Richard Mottershead
Richard joined STS Capital after working for eight years with PricewaterhouseCoopers Corporate Finance & Recovery in London and the Cayman Islands. Richard is a Certified Chartered Accountant and has worked on the disposal of numerous high profile companies including the Administrators sale of Enron Direct to Centrica for £96.5m and the sale of TWR Racing, the parent company of the Arrows Formula 1 team. His broad background in corporate finance and recovery together with his experience in hedge funds has enabled him to gain exposure to some of the largest corporate collapses in history and has been instrumental in complex realisations of illiquid assets held within numerous hedge fund portfolios. More recently Richard has been involved with raising debt and equity for Caribbean based companies and providing valuation services in dispute resolution cases.

Gayle Pearce
Gayle offers over 25 years of diverse business experience, the past twelve years of which has been in senior strategic sales and marketing roles in technology, financial services and retail sectors. Her clients appreciate her as an innovative thinker who has the acumen to define both direct and adjacent prospects, create compelling and appropriate positioning, and the drive and experience to consistently deliver complex projects on time and on budget. Recently, Gayle was Vice President Sales & Marketing with an early stage SaaS-based technology company where she not only drove top-line revenue and client growth, but was also extensively involved with debt funding and divestiture activities. After the successful sale of the technology company, Gayle focused on professional practice divestitures prior to joining STS Capital Partners. Gayle studied Art History at the University of Calgary and is currently pursuing her MBA through The Centre for Innovative Management at Athabasca University.

Claire Petryschuk
Claire is a PMI Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and Client Operations Manager at STS Capital Partners. Her focus includes supporting client projects and the M&A professionals at STS across a variety of industries and geographies. Claire’s career has focused on planning, implementing and managing projects that are strategic to the client’s business needs in a variety of sectors including technology, automotive and marketing services. Claire previously led the initiation of a Project Management Office (PMO) where she was responsible for the training and development of the Project Management community. Claire has a background in quality management and led a service-based company to their first ISO designation in support of continuous improvement. Claire has a business degree from the University of Guelph and is a certified internal quality auditor. In her role at STS Capital Partners, Claire supports client satisfaction, resource management, business operations and quality management.

Silvia Veitia Smith
Silvia has over 15 years of financial analysis experience in the energy, transportation and credit card sectors, including cross-border transactions throughout Latin America, Canada and the U.S. Prior to joining STS, Silvia led financial planning and analysis, new business development and M&A initiatives for multinational corporations including MasterCard International, InterGen (a Shell/Bechtel joint venture), Enron Corp and MBNA America. Her most recent work involved managing several complex projects structured as Public-Private Partnerships/Private Finance Initiatives. Silvia holds an MBA from Georgetown University, a Graduate Certificate in International Management from Oxford University and is fluent in English, Spanish, Portuguese and Italian.
