Jesus Robles Torrado – Partner



Jesus has over 14 years of experience as an investment banker and structured financing expert. He began his career doing financial planning and yield management at both Becton Dikinson and RCI before moving to the financial services industry with IXE Casa de Bolsa as Vice President of Investment Banking. While at IXE, Jesus participated in the various securitizations of toll roads and toll bridges, as well as several M&A deals, sale-lease backs, and leveraged buyouts (LBOs).

Jesus later moved to Bancomer Securities International to manage international products and secured lending. He was responsible for designing products for the private banking arm of BBVA Bancomer and also participating in the placement of securities in the US for Mexican entities. While working at BBVA Bancomer’s subsidiary, Jesus participated in the merger and consolidation of all the international entities owned by BBVA, as well as the ones from the acquired Bancomer in the US and Cayman Islands. His final stop in BBVA Bancomer was at the Investment Banking team where he helped structured several project and structured finance deals, including the first RMBS settled by Infonavit, the refinancing of Tribasa through the securitization of toll road concessions using a financial guaranty, and other infrastructure projects. He also worked with the equity capital markets and M&A teams on equity offerings from CEMEX, URBI, ICA and M&A deals from industrial companies and hospitality services.

Prior to joining STS, Jesus was the Director of Structured Finance at GMAC-Rescap, where he structured several Residential Mortgage Backed Securities and Asset Backed Securities including several “first ever” placed structures for the Mexican market. He managed GMAC-Rescap’s trading facility for the Latin American markets and gained experience with secured lending, mergers and acquisitions and asset backed securitization in various Latin American countries, including Mexico, Brazil and Chile.

Jesus holds an Honours Bachelor of Industrial Engineering from Universidad Iberoamericana, an MBA in Finance from Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México and a post-graduate degree of Financial Institutions from the Harvard University (Harvard Institute for International Development). Jesus is on the Advisory Committee for the International Management Network, advising them on their capital markets focused conferences that pertain to structured financing in Latin America.
